We are excited to open registration for the 2024-25 SFUSD school year.

Currently, only Leonard Flynn Elementary School qualifies for school pick up. If your child(ren) attend other schools, you can coordinate your own transition from school to our programming. Note that school pick up can only happen if 5 or more children from a school are enrolled at Mariposa Kids.

Families new to Mariposa Kids will be asked to schedule a site visit before school starts on August 19, 2024. If your child has behavioral or learning differences that require additional support, please email [email protected] so we can discuss our program's ability to meet your child's needs.

Mariposa Kids' After-School Program is a free-play centered program that brings together an average of 40 kids in grades TK to 5 in the hours after school. During this program, children experience exploration-based programming where they are able to partake in activities that include art projects, science experiments, reading, sports, outdoor play, homework help, and so much more.

For San Francisco schools with more than 5 children enrolled at Mariposa Kids, our staff will pick up from school and bring children to a local park in the Mission/Bernal District. We provide a first snack and then after approximately 90 minutes of outdoor play, we walk to our Clubhouse at the James Rolph Jr. Park for additional activities. A second snack is served at 5pm and final pick-up for all children is 6pm.

Our only current school for pick up is Leonard Flynn Elementary School in San Francisco. For children who do not attend Flynn Elementary, families can drop off children at our program after-school.

Our After-School Program occurs on every SFUSD school day. Holiday Camps are available on select SFUSD school closure days for an additional fee.

Costs for care are $675/month for 5-days/week, $575/month for 4-days/week and $475/month for 3-days/week with 10% sibling discounts available.

A non-refundable $100 registration fee is required. Families interested in exploring financial assistance need to email [email protected] before registering.

Our registration is continually changing in the months of August and September, and you may find when you try to register that our program for your child(ren)'s age group is full. If you'd like to join the wait list, please complete our registration information via this platform. Contact [email protected] if you experience technical issues joining the list.  

There is no fee to join our wait list. If a spot opens, you will be contacted via email and will have 72 hours to respond before your spot on the list is released and we move to the next family. Each age group has a separate wait list (TK -1st and 2nd-5th). 

We reserve specific spots for families receiving financial assistance. If our system shows there is waitlist, there may be spots available for families who qualify for our Financial Assistance Program. Please email [email protected] to ask about availability.
